Are you looking for opportunities to put your academic research 和 writing skills into practice? Are you looking for meaningful professional experience 和 mentorship from the convenient location of BGSU’s campus? Would you like to receive academic course credit in the process? Then apply to be an intern with BGSU’s own interdisciplinary, public humanities center - the Institute for the Study of Culture & 社会(ICS). This unpaid internship provides valuable experience in areas such as event planning 和 project management, social media 和 public relations, 平面设计, research 和 curricular development, 媒体制作, 和更多的. Internships are typically offered each Fall 和 Spring. 

The Institute for the Study of Culture 和 社会 seeks to connect academic research to the wider community through public engagement activities. ICS帮助教师发展, 沟通, 和 disseminate their scholarly 和 creative work to constituencies across campus 和 throughout the region. With our public events 和 outreach efforts, we bring issues of vital national 和 global importance to Northwest Ohio, 和, 反过来, bring community knowledge back into the university.

We are looking for motivated, team-oriented problem solvers with excellent communication skills. ICS interns work approximately 10 hours per week in the ICS offices in Shatzel Hall. ICS internships are offered in the following tracks:

• Develop 和 implement a social media plan 和 assess its success
• Develop publicity strategies 和 manage day-to-day promotions of ICS events 和 programs
  
• Learn about accessibility st和ards 和 implement programs 和 processes in ICS promotional materials 和 on the ICS website

• 设计 outward-facing promotional materials such as brochures, logos, swag etc.

• Learn project management 和 “traffic” skills to maintain steady workflows in a professional setting
